Community

Port Scholarship

The Port touches the lives of thousands of people throughout the region and plays a pivotal role within its wider community.

We have a long history of developing our business in partnership with the local community, our staff, service providers and customers.

This is reflected in a strong culture of social and environmental responsibility and our Company values - Innovation, Communication, Teamwork and Community Focus. These values guide the way we conduct our business.

Our commitment to the community is shown through our sponsorship of the Port of Tauranga Half (http://www.halfironman.co.nz/), the New Zealand dotterels, the Tauranga Arts Festival and other environmental and social initiatives.

We also offer support to the Bay of Plenty community in fields such as sporting events, education, the environment and business promotion, acknowledging our role within the wider community.

Port Tours

Every year Port of Tauranga opens its doors to the public for a two week period.

A guided port tour is a unique opportunity to gain an insight into New Zealand’s largest and most efficient port - incorporating marine, bulk cargo, and container handling facilities.

The 2010 season concluded on Saturday 23rd January, with a total of 1250 people visiting the Port.

Look out for tours again next year.  We will take bookings from mid December and if you missed out this year, remember to book early!
