Tariffs and Terms

The Port of Tauranga provides all customers using our facilities with a fast, efficient and reliable service at competitive rates.

Typical charges associated with Port services including vessel, cargo, storage and other tariffs are reviewed on a yearly basis. The following tariff schedule is an easy-to-follow breakdown of basic costs involved for services provided. Tariffs are effective from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2013

All tariffs are quoted in New Zealand dollars and are GST exclusive.
Invoices will be generated for a minimum charge of $30.00.

Principal Tariffs

Vessel Tariff

Marine Charges

Vessels up to 20,000 GRT — $1.09 cents/GT

Vessels over 20,000 GRT — 92 cents/GT plus $4,150.00

Minimum vessel charges $1,800.00/visit

Charges for vessels up to 70m, exclude towage.
Towage: 17 cents per GT (refer minimum charges).
Charges for vessels up to 70-149m include one tug on arrival and departure
Additional tug: 17 cents per GT
Charges for vessels 150m and over include two tugs on arrival and departure
Rebate for non-use of tugs: 70-149m 8 cents per GT per tug, 150m and over 4 cents per GT per tug.
Cancellation fees may apply under special circumstances

Vessel Shift

16 cents/GT

Minimum $600.00 up to 3,750 GT

Minimum $1,100.00 over 3,750 GT

Daily Service

$10.16/metre LOA per day. $8.95/metre LOA per day Cement/Tanker Berth

Demurrage will be payable on breakbulk cargo after the free day allowance. Demurrage will be chargeable from day one of containers being packed or unpacked.
Please see separate Principal Tariffs for general charges and all cargo moved through Tauranga Container Terminal/MetroPort. Payment of invoices are due 14 days following date of invoice.
