Port Scholarships

The Port of Tauranga is the economic hub of the Bay of Plenty, drawing businesses and trade to the region and generating thousands of jobs in the local economy.

However, the Port's focus extends beyond our Business for Social Responsibility and review our plans and operations against best practice.

In addition, we are investing in projects that benefit a broad cross-section of the community.

Sponsorships such as the Turirangi Te Kani Memorial Scholarship for Maori tertiary students from local iwi, and support for the University of Waikato, are aimed at building the region's knowledge bank.  If you would like to find out more information on the Turirangi Te Kani Memorial Scholarships please email: cfo@port-tauranga.co.nz

The Port of Tauranga Half, which encourages sporting excellence and promotes the natural assets of the region, continues to feature in the Port's sponsorship portfolio. For more information on the Port of Tauranga Half go to: www.halfironman.co.nz

We also assist community groups by supporting fundraising opportunities at this event and the Tauranga Yacht Regatta.

Our most recent significant community investment is a four year, $250,000 partnership with the Philips Trust to install the Port of Tauranga Rescue Winch onto the TrustPower TECT Rescue Helicopter.

If you have any suggestions or comments on the Port's social responsibility please email us at administration@port-tauranga.co.nz.
