TOLL OWENS CHIEF EXECUTIVE APPOINTED

Posted on 22nd August 2005

The Chief Executive of Port Marlborough, Sean Bolt, has been appointed to replace Mark Cairns as Chief Executive of Tauranga-based Toll Owens Limited.

Prior to his appointment to Marlborough in 2003, Bolt (46) was Manager of the Container Terminal at Tauranga’s Sulphur Point, building the facility from its creation to its becoming New Zealand’s second largest container terminal – and Australasia’s most productive. A former seaman with a master’s foreign-going certificate, he completed a degree majoring in economics and philosophy at Auckland University. After coming ashore, he worked at the Auckland Container Terminals and as Harbourmaster in Westport, before moving to Tauranga as Pilot/Tugmaster in 1995.

He takes up his appointment in November, after Mark Cairns moves to the Port of Tauranga, where he replaces the Chief Executive of close to a decade, Jon Mayson.

Toll Owens – jointly owned by the Port of Tauranga Limited and Toll Logistics (NZ) Limited – handles marshalling and stevedoring at 11 of New Zealand’s 13 ports, with 680 employees.
