Port of Tauranga Appoints New Director

Posted on 2nd August 2005

The Port of Tauranga today announced that David Pilkington has been appointed as an independent Director to fill the vacancy resulting from the retirement of Lloyd Morrison.

Chairman, John Parker, said that while the Board was disappointed to lose a long-serving Director of the calibre of Lloyd Morrison, it was significant that it had been able to replace him with someone of David Pilkington's experience and ability.

"David Pilkington was a member of Fonterra's senior executive team and now holds directorships in Restaurant Brands New Zealand, Ballance Agri-nutrients, Zespri, Douglas Pharmaceuticals, and Ruapehu Alpine Lifts.”

He has a strong background in marketing, international business, and supply chain logistics. We are very pleased he has agreed to join the Port's board.

Mr Parker said that Lloyd Morrison had contributed enormously with his background as Chairman of Wellington-based HRL Morrison and as a Director of Infratil. He had signalled some time ago his desire to retire from the Board in order to give more time to Infratil's growing offshore activities.
