Port of Tauranga

Port Update 13 October at 0700

The Port continues to operate this morning with 6 movements overnight and a further 6 this morning; including the arrival of 2 cruise ships, the Volendam and the Pacific Dawn.

The specialised sonar equipment continues to be deployed sweeping the main shipping channels out to the pilot boarding ground. There are no containers in these areas. There is some debris from the ship moving towards the Port and we are continuing to monitor this.

There have been no further reports from the vessel over night. Weather conditions have improved considerably.
